How did a small team of fundraisers raise more than $8 million in one year from congregations? By building on existing relationships, using a match well, impeccable timing, and consistent ongoing messaging while providing the right resources. Though many organizations have given up on congregations as a fundraising opportunity, there are faithful people in church every week who want to be engaged. From endowments to special Sunday offerings to being a line item in a church’s budget, there are many ways churches give to the causes they care about. Come learn from Lutheran World Relief best practices on how to successfully raise money from congregations and discover why this audience is worth the fundraising investment.
You'll learn:
- Resources congregations want to help them raise money
- Different ways that congregations can engage with an organization (fundraiser, mission of the month, grants, etc.)
- How to begin building church relationships in the attendee’s context
