Preparing for a Major Campaign
Nancy Appel and Clare Jordan

Date: Thursday, August 21, 2025

Time: 12:30 p.m. CT

Major campaigns for faith-related institutions are not the same as any other nonprofit organization's campaign. Discover the unique elements of faith-related campaign planning: from the value of self-assessment tools to get ready to undertake a significant fundraising initiative; to the buy-in of the governing body's leadership; communications with congregants and key stakeholders; strategizing relationship building; and allowing time for the intentional conversations required for lead and major gifts phases. Client examples, useful exercises, and takeaway resources will guide this session.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Assess your readiness to undertake a major campaign and identify areas of greatest need
  2. Learn how to determine if and how feasibility studies can be useful
  3. Learn key elements of vision building for a strong case for support
  4. Develop tools to strategize and build key donor relations and communications
